What is Seedance?
Seedance is a family of AI video generation models made by ByteDance. You give it a text prompt, an image or reference clips, and it returns a short video with matching sound. The current version, Seedance 2.5, was released on July 31, 2026 and makes clips up to 30 seconds long.
Seedance is a model, not a single website. You reach it through ByteDance's own apps such as Dreamina, through API providers, or through independent workspaces like this one.

Capabilities
What can Seedance do?
Seedance creates video in three ways. Text-to-video builds a clip from a written prompt. Image-to-video animates a still image used as the first frame, with an optional last frame. Reference-to-video combines several images, clips or audio files to keep a character, product or style consistent.
Since version 1.5 the model generates audio together with the picture, including dialogue with lip-sync, sound effects and ambience. The Seedance 2.5 prompt guide shows how to direct those elements.
